Any experience with these bird cages?
Hey Everyone, I tragically lost my gold capped conure about 2 years ago, I am still not over it, however I think it is okay to move on and get another. I would like another gold capped and am looking for a nice cage for my apartment. ( I know, a gold capped in an apartment is a bad idea. I have owned birds long enough to know with the proper training and care the noise can be kept within reason. Also, my green cheek was much louder then my gold capped ever was.)
Any experience with the cagebydesign bird cages? or the avian accent bird cages? There alot of money but i would love to have a nice furniture piece.
Thanks
No personal experience with either. CagesByDesign has mixed reviews. Some people love them, some don’t. For bad reviews, see http://www.complaintsboard.com/complaints/cages-by-design-c190327.html http://www.reptileforums.net/forums/amphibians/19414-bad-business-practices-by-httpwwwcagesbydesigncom.html
I don’t see anything much about Avian Accent one way or the other.
I’m not a huge fan of parrot cages as decor. Our downstairs (daytime, play) cages are slightly ornamental, but they’re still all powder-coated metal with nice flat play tops. Easy to clean and a good cage for birds to hang out on. The sleep cages are just basic cubes. A fancy sleep cage would work fine, because they won’t be climbing around the top and sides of the cage and pooping on it or scraping food off their beaks on it, but there doesn’t seem to be much point to it, since when they’re in their sleep room, the door is closed and the light is off and we can’t see the cages anyway.
We’ve bought our cages locally. It’s nice to see what you’re getting. We’ve been able to pick them up on sale from a local bird store or at a good price on Craigslist.
No, I don’t ahve any experience with them, sorry. I have my first bird, a lovebird named Sherbert, in this cage:

She seems to like it a lot! I don’t know if it would be too small for your bird, or your "future" bird, but I thought that putting a link mighttttt be helpful! Good luck with your future bird!!!
