NO. The least the lovebird may do is remove the toes or feet of the cockatiel.
only if they’re already friends
i put a parakeet in a large cage w/ 4 cockatiels due to the fact that the parakeet’s partner had died and left her alone…. i felt bad because it would always watch to see wot the cockatiels were doing…..so after a couple years i put it in w/the bigger birds and she is really attached to one of the cockatiels, they.re buddies……but if you do put the birds together make sure you have time to sit and watch them for a while to make sure no problems arise and noone gets hurt….
This is not set in stone as some birds do get along and still stay bonded to the owner, but MOST of the time, when you house 2 birds together, they will bond to each other and start biting the owner to protect each other. In other wors they will love each other instead of you, so it just depends on what you are willing to accept. Seems a shame for someont to take the time and effort to hand raise a baby, juet to have it bond with another bird.
Mine are kept in seperate cages across the room from each other. they can talk back and forth to each other, but they will stay bonded to me.
Best wishes
NO! Lovebirds are extremely aggressive and have been known to kill even macaws when they are living in the same cage. Please don’t hurt your cockatiel. Just put the birds in separate cages next to each other. This way they can be friends but nobody gets hurt. Even my sweet Lucy is mean to other birds. She runs up to them and starts pulling their feathers out. Please, don’t do it. I almost ended up with a dead conure because I didn’t believe people and I thought that I could just teach the birds to get along.
Put the 2 cages near each other then next to each other and watch and see what happens and if they will be friends.
When it comes time to put them together watch them in case one is more aggressive or dominant
