Parakeet cage?
The base of my old cage broke when my wife was cleaning it. So I went to Pet Smart and bought a new one. They had a sale on large bird cages and they were only higher than the cage I was going to buy. So I bought the large cage. I have three keets and they seem happy to have all the room to jump around in. They can’t fit through the wire. But it is a big cage for parrots and such. Can a cage be to big for small birds?
little more info please

Any suggestions for attractive rabbit housing?
Bunny condos are, in my opinion, really ugly. Is there a way to disguise a rabbit home so it blends in with normal furniture? Would it be possible to renovate a large, ornate bird cage to house a rabbit?

i keep my macaw parot in a large cage outside, i heard a rattlesnake, could it eat my bird?
I only put my bird outside in his cage, when the weather is nice because he enjoys it so much. For now I will not let him out in the back yard cage because of the rattlesnake. I also have two rat terrior dogs, that I’m concerned about w/ this rattlesnake. I will have to figure somthing out to get rid of the snake. "scary" any good ideas ?

Would a caique be a good bird for us?
My family is composed of my mom, my dad, my ten year old brother and I. I absolutely love birds and we currently have a pair of budgies. My mom really wants a puppy, but we don’t have the room for it, and I want a bird, so I suggested getting a caique because they act like little feathered puppies. My brother likes birds to an extent, but it wouldn’t be a problem getting him used to a caique. Same with my dad.
Anyway, my mom is prepared to spend the 900$ or so on the bird plus the 500-ish for the cage, food, toys, etc and vet visits. However, this would be out first larger bird. We’ve been researching them alot and have a book on them.
My dad works full time, and my brother and I go to school. My mom has a part-time job, so no one would be home for about six hours each day. We would provide the caique with plenty of toys and probably this cage: http://www.mybirdstore.com/VICTORIAN_CAGES-DOME_TOP_26_X20_X36_POWDER_COATED.html
It would be out of it’s cage on a playstand or playing with us most of the time when we’re home.
So, would a caique be ok by itself for six hours each weekday? Is this a good choice of bird for our family? Is the cage large enough?

Should I try a new bird cage for 23-yr-old ring-neck dove?
We’ve had him for 23 years—–he’s actually a little older than that—–and he’s been in the same cage all that time. We do let him out to fly a little bit in our basement almost every day. I’ve been wondering about constructing some sort of larger caged environment for him, but I read that it’s unwise to change what an older bird is used to. Any advice?
Appropriate bird cage?
I have 4 cockatiels. I was give a very nice huge bird cage, the kind that stands on the floor. I would like to transfer the birds into the larger cage but I am worried because the bars on the cage have a space of 1inch in between them. Is that too much of a space between the bars for cockatiels? I don’t want them to hurt themselves getting stuck or something like that.

Questions about mixing bird breeds in cages?
We recently got a new bird called Romeo an 8 month male Cockatiel and we put him in a large cage with our existing birds Nathaniel a 10 year old male Parakeet and Charley a 10 year old female Cockatiel. When Romeo first went into the cage he was chirpy, then Charley died a day later, Romeo stopped singing and Nathaniel suddenly became very territorial and chased Romeo round his cage trying to bite him. We took Romeo out of Nathaniel’s cage and put him in a separate cage, but he still isn’t happy. Are both birds grieving?
We have another bird Shrek a 2 year old male Canary alone in a separate cage, would it be ok to put Romeo (male Cockatiel) in the same cage as Shrek?
Thanks any input or opinion would help (:
Assembling New Aluminum Kings Cage for Upcoming Parrot
trainedparrot.com Some of you may know that I’m getting a new parrot soon. So a few weeks ago I went and bought a new cage, tree, and supplies for the new bird. I won’t have it till June but I already bought everything so I can start getting Kili used to NOT going on the new bird’s areas. For those of you curious what new parrot I have coming, it is a Cape Parrot which is of the genus Poicephalus (same as Senegal Parrot). I am starting a new blog (and it is still very rough and incomplete) to chronicle my experience with this new flighted (never clipped) baby Cape Parrot. I will be writing articles and sharing videos of the entire training process from the day I get the bird and show you how I get it out of the carrier and into the cage for the first time. My first post was about how I chose the cage, assembly, and finally my review of Kings Cages and the cage itself. I highly recommend anyone planning to buy a parrot or cage to read this article to familiarize yourself with some of the supplies and cages available for a new parrot. So check out photos and my complete review of the new cage on my new parrot blog: trainedparrot.com Enjoy.
What size sleep cage for a cinnamon conure and how do you set it up?
I am getting a cinnamon conure at the end of the month and and have this cage for a regular day cage. http://www.birdcages.com/bird-cages/large-bird-cages/seraflightcagelarge.cfm. Im not sure what size cage for a sleeping, but it needs to be small enought for me to take him to a vet, but large enough for him to be able to move around after he gets up. Any Ideas are welcome.
