I have 4 cockatiels. I was give a very nice huge bird cage, the kind that stands on the floor. I would like to transfer the birds into the larger cage but I am worried because the bars on the cage have a space of 1inch in between them. Is that too much of a space between the bars for cockatiels? I don’t want them to hurt themselves getting stuck or something like that.

i need a bird cage for my parakeets.. how do i do this?

I have a parakeet and want to get another one but i think it would be fun to make the bird cage, considering i don’t have 0+ to buy one. So the dimensions i have are 5 ft. height by 2 feet depth by 2 feet width. but the stand is 2 and a half feet height. it is all square and i want the top to be able to come off. and the bottom of the cage to slide out for easy clean up. any ideas? i need the material, average prices, and average times + any thoughts.

My wife used to have finches years ago and I would like to surprise her by buying her a new cage + stand for finches

I know one could be built but does anyone know of a site that sells something more like a TENT type structure to cover a large/xl bird cage with? My friends bird rips up every one she covers his cage up with. He is having a lot of problems right now, one issue is he is NOT getting enought sleep! But I was thinking if it is over his cage but out of his reach he would have no choice but to be in darkness and hopefully snooze!

So if you know of any cage TENT type structures I would really appreciate it and so would my friend and the bird. Thanks

How to I clean up the rusty part? (if it’s possible)

I will like to change the color to white or pink. Should I paint it or use a spray (what kind of spray do I use? And where can I buy it?)?
The cage will be used for my cockatoo.

I recently got a bird cage from a friend of mine. It is quite rusted. The bottom plastic part has been cleaned and sanitized. However the metal bars are being quite the chore. I purchased some non toxic paint (per the pet store’s reccomdation) however how much of the rust must I get off before I can paint over it? I know that rust is toxic to birds. I have tried wire brushes, steel wool…etc. PLEASE HELP

Why I got one:
This will be the first plant I have ever owned. I have 0 plant knowledge. I needed to get it so I could do something about the dry air around the house so I can get my parakeets in a more humid-like environment. I heard from Avitech that they resperate and create humidity and don’t require pre-existing humidity to survive as the ferns do. I was told not to get a humidifier because they create spores that is harmful to the bird’s lungs, so I took the plant route.

Problem I am worried about regarding the spider plant:
The best ones Sears Hardware (The ONLY store around that has plants out this time of year) have are browned at the tips and some leaves are mushy, but it has a lot of healthy-looking ‘babies’ sprouted about the sides.

So I was wondering :
Do I cut the brown tips off?
Do I use regular scissors?
Do I pull out the dead parts or will that harm the plant?

Over all:
What should I do to bring this plant back to full-health?

I live in North Western Indiana so there’s very little sun-light this time of year, it’s pretty cold out 30 degrees, and we’re at 33 % humidity in doors. I plan on keeping the plant just above our huge bird cage hanging from the ceiling.

I need to find an efficient way to remove a cloudy or gradient background from a photograph of a bird cage (think multiple bars and all of the background through each bar) in Photoshop. I’ve tried select-color range, magic wand tool. Please help!!!
