How do I convince my parents to let me have a bird?
Okay so…..A friend of mine had 2 birds and they had babies and I became emotionally attached to one of them. I named her Lucy, and I adore her! The bird, cage, and the first bag of food is provided for free. I dont know if my mom has an issue because her bird was killed a few years ago. Even when my dad states his issue and I have a solution, he seems sure I haven’t.
BTW I have tried showing them I’m responsible, I will continue to do that.
Is this nightime bird cage cover ok for the bird?
I am planning on getting a bird. Right now I’m in the "prove your responsible" stage with my mom. I started knitting a little while ago and have now started making a cage cover for my bird. I was wondering if that is considered a "breathable" cover. Also would the tiny holes disturb my bird when the sun is up and peeks through?
AND please no unreasonable answers. TY ![]()
the wholes are NOT that big by the way. they are just little cracks
Can I still use this spray bottle to clean my bird's cage?
I need a spray bottle to clean my birds cage, but my mom put bleach in it a long time ago..
I need to clean the cage today and can’t go out to buy a new spray bottle.
I was wondering if it were still safe to use it after i washed it out?
Thank you!
What if I rinse the cage afterwards?
Would a caique be a good bird for us?
My family is composed of my mom, my dad, my ten year old brother and I. I absolutely love birds and we currently have a pair of budgies. My mom really wants a puppy, but we don’t have the room for it, and I want a bird, so I suggested getting a caique because they act like little feathered puppies. My brother likes birds to an extent, but it wouldn’t be a problem getting him used to a caique. Same with my dad.
Anyway, my mom is prepared to spend the 900$ or so on the bird plus the 500-ish for the cage, food, toys, etc and vet visits. However, this would be out first larger bird. We’ve been researching them alot and have a book on them.
My dad works full time, and my brother and I go to school. My mom has a part-time job, so no one would be home for about six hours each day. We would provide the caique with plenty of toys and probably this cage: http://www.mybirdstore.com/VICTORIAN_CAGES-DOME_TOP_26_X20_X36_POWDER_COATED.html
It would be out of it’s cage on a playstand or playing with us most of the time when we’re home.
So, would a caique be ok by itself for six hours each weekday? Is this a good choice of bird for our family? Is the cage large enough?
Cute african theme Bird Cages?
My parents are letting me get a bird since we have an extra room in my house. My mom says I have to find a cute one. The room is leopard printed, brown and black, its got an african/jungle theme. Help me find one that matches that.
Choosing a Finch Bird Cage?
My mom wants some finches for her birthday! I’m in charge of arranging everything and I need some help choosing cages. We’re going with either 2 zebra or silver-bill finches and she plans to hang the cage from a stand. I have found several cages, I’m just not sure which is best. If somebody who keeps birds could give me advice on which of the following would be the best cage for the birds and the money, I’d be so thankful!

Cleaning bird cages?
My mom went on vacation and I am taking care of her birds. I was wondering if it was okay to put newspaper down on the bottom of the cage because it doesn’t have the bottom that pulls out. Will the paper be okay with the ink or should I be using something else, possibly paper towels?
should i show my girlfriend the secret picture i made of her?
ok. so here is my deal. im casey. im 15 years old and my girlfriend kelly is 14. last summer, we went to the beach together and i managed to get a really adorable picture of her sitting on a rock wall along the beach in a cute little bikini. her sweet blonde hair looked gold against the sun and her eyes were blue and shiny. it was the most perfect picture ever!
several months later, i was taking some pictures of some old things my grandma was selling at a garage sale and my eye happened to catch this beautiful little brass birdcage. it was a decorative birdcage-round with little gold leaves and vines circling around it. it had a swinging perch inside…you know? like a bird would sit on? so i took a picture of it!
anyway, i let my deepest fantasies get the best of me and i went to photoshop and spliced the 2 pictures together. i had to erase both backgrounds from each picture, and i made a copy of the birdcage and erased the "back" bars of the cage via photoshop. i then, took the picture of my girlfriend and put her behind the cage and seated her on the swing. next, i put the back bars back in so it looked like they surrounded her. i adjusted the size of her and the swing to make it look like she was seated on it. after all was said and done, it looked like she was INSIDE the birdcage and it was such a darling picture. i then added a background of my family’s living room and made it look like the birdcage was hanging up near the fireplace. when the whole picture was done, it looked so perfect!
my question now is: should i show her the picture or do you think it will embarass her? my older brother told me i should be ashamed of myself. he said that she will be humiliated if she thinks my sexual fantasy is of me holding her prisoner in a birdcage! but i think it’s just an innocent picture and it’s really cute! and i wouldn’t really do that to her for real! my mom saw the picture as well and she said she thought it was really cute and that kelly looked adorable sitting inside a pretty little birdcage. should i show her the picture or do you think it is a stupid idea?

What kind of bird could I get for a small wooden cage?
My dad bought a wooden bird cage yesterday as decoration but I know he really wants to get a real bird in it so my mom and I are thinking of getting him one for his birthday that’s in two weeks. So I was wondering what kind of bird would be right for it. The cage is about 14×11 1/2 inches and we’re thinking of keeping it outside (my backyard has a large roof so the bird wouldn’t get wet or even get affected by the wind). Thanks for any help!
