What is the best bird for a 2nd time bird owner?

Hi. I have a Sun Conure currently and I adore him :) . He is PACKED with curiosity and playfullness. He makes kissing sounds and kisses us. He also does some crazy things. He is pretty loud when he wants me to go and take him out of his cage in the morning. I want to try another breed of bird because they are the best :) . I will still spend a lot of time with my sun conure, but also time with the new bird. And gradually introduce them to each other so they can become friends :D . Can you suggest to me some nice and sweet types of bird? Could I make a home made cage out of stainless steel for the new bird? I have looked at eclectus parrots, and they seem to make amazing pets, do you think I have enough experience with birds to get one? I hand fed my conure for a month or two, so I have experience in that area. I would most likely get a bird that is not fully weaned and hand feed the bird. At the moment I am looking at Goffin cockatoos, and eclectus parrots. Can you suggest some more birds for a 2nd time bird owner? Thanks :D

The second bird I had was a lovebird which was hand fed, but took a while to gain her trust. Lovebirds are usually very shy when you first get them and because of that bite. However after you gain their trust and work with them they become very sweet and loving and are playful and very acrobatic. Since you already had a conure i think a lovebird would make a good 2nd bird. Also another good bird would be a caique. They are a little easier to tame, but not as sweet. However they have even more energy than a conure and are very playful and fun. An eclectus are a little more laid-back and are nice and can possibly talk a little. Cockatoos are extremely sweet birds and crave your attention, so if you want a very affectionate bird I recomand them even though they aren’t as playful as a conure, lovebird, or a caque.

If you want a very playful bird
    Caique

If you want a very sweet bird
    Lovebird

If you want a very affectinate bird
    Cockatoo

If you want a more laid-back bird
    Eclectus

I hope I helped. Have fun with your new birdie!

They are very cute, and some of them luv to immitate you.! -they are kinda like parrots. Hope you find them interesting! A great place to buy birds is at Feathered Fallies – a store -

Just type in Feathered Fallies, and then it will give you a link to their site. You can adopt one, or have them take care of it when you go on vacation. They have a lot of different kinds of birds there. I get all of my birds there. They have food, toys, perches, cages, etc.

If you’re that concern and you do enough and the right kind of research… Kid, you got what it takes to raise any kind of bird (accept for an owl, eagle, hawks.. etc.- its a bit more advanced) I have a friend who owns 17 Macaws, 1 Hyacinth, 1 Mollucan, 2 birds of Oliveras (excuse my spelling) and man, its pretty amazing what his home looks like (I also think any of these birds would be great for yourself- if you have enough cash to fork over to the breeder). The only thing you would really have to worry about is to make sure you give any of your chose of bird plenty of loving attention or else you’d have a sad naked bird in the end.
