wood bird cages?

I bought my 2 year old son some zebra finches, and I have been looking for an oak bird cage, the type you see when you go to a nursing home or something like that. Does anybody know where I can find one?
when I looked at averies, it didn’t show what i was looking for, when I look on ebay they don’t have them either. I asked my husband to build me one and he laughed at me…
they are for my 2 year old, but we use them to teach him the colors and he loves to watch them. He sat on our couch for a good hour watching them. And that was the type I was looking for. But I clean the cage everyday. All he does is talk about the birds and how they fly and what colors he sees.

I hope you’re kidding about the birds being for a 2 year old BABY. Your 2 year old isWAY too young to have birds to take care of. At this stage, they’re nothing more than live toys. Wooden bird cages are more for "show" than practical use. Stick to "real" bird cages.

Unless you mean these "furniture" style cages, which aren’t really for finches.

these cages are called "aviaries" you can find them at a local petstore, or online at ebay or something. you could also go online and find a design to build one out of cheap lumber at Lowes or something (make sure it isnt treated)

    hope this helps!

I don’t see how you can clean a wooden cage adequately. It would end up harbouring nasty things. I realise that a metal cage isn’t as aesthetically pleasing, but it is better for the birds.
